Jamison Solar Farm begins soaking up the sun

Orangeburg, SC, May 28, 2019 – Alder Energy Systems LLC, a trusted South Carolina turnkey solar provider, is pleased to announce the completion of a new utility scale solar project for Santee Cooper. The ground mounted solar array is located on 5.4 acres at the Interstate 26 and Highway 601 interchange, and it is visible from I-26. The installation utilizes 4,482 solar panels to generate an annual production of 2,261 megawatt hours (MWh) of clean renewable energy, enough to power 163 average South Carolina households.

This project utilizes 225 Hanwha Q Cell solar panels to produce 86 MWh of clean energy annually. Alder Energy projects the 66.375 kW project will offset all of their annual energy use.

We will be able to offset nearly all of our power usage and the cost of the system is about what our average power bill runs. The combined installations utilize 315 solar panels which produce over 148,062 kW of clean renewable energy. The annual production will offset between 45 and 100 % of each location’s yearly energy consumption. The renewable energy produced at these locations will reduce the operating costs and provide environmental benefits to the community.

The Solar Power World Top Solar Contractors list includes Charleston based solar firm

Charleston, SC, July 26, 2018 – More than 10,600 megawatts of solar power were installed last year in the United States, and local installer Alder Energy Systems has been recognized by Solar Power World magazine for its contributions to the industry. Alder Energy Systems has been listed as 199 out of 450 solar companies on the magazine’s 2018 Top Solar Contractors list.

The Top Solar Contractors list was developed by Solar Power World to recognize the work completed by solar contractors across the United States. Produced annually, them Top Solar Contractors list celebrates the achievements of U.S. solar developers, subcontractors and installers within the utility, commercial and residential markets, and ranks contractors by kilowatts installed in the previous year. The 2018 list was released on July 24.

“Solar Power World is very excited about the 2018 class of Top Solar Contractors,” said Kelly Pickerel, editor in chief of Solar Power World. “Our 2017 list showed impressive installation numbers after 2016’s huge rush to meet ITC requirements, and many companies were hesitant to show unavoidable installation dips after last year’s high. The U.S. solar market had its biggest year ever in 2016, installing more than 15,000 MW. Installations in 2017 were 10,608 MW growth over 2015 numbers.

A major highlight of 2017 was the non-residential market growing 28% year-over-year, the fourth straight year of annual growth for commercial, industrial and community solar. In 2017, 30% of all new electric generating capacity brought online in the United States came from solar, second only to new natural gas capacity.

KION North America boasts 1.257 Megawatt of clean renewable energy

Summerville, SC, May 30, 2018 – Alder Energy Systems LLC, a trusted South Carolina turnkey solar provider, is pleased to announce the completion of the KION North America manufacturing plant rooftop and ground mount solar array. The installation utilizes 3,643 solar panels which produce over 1,804 MWH annually of clean renewable energy. This annual energy production will offset around 80 percent of the annual energy consumption of all operations at the facility. The installation will also offset the equivalent of 2.08 million pounds of carbon dioxide emissions and generate enough energy to power 133 homes.

Beaufort celebrates the solar power initiative providing clean, renewable energy for the city

The city’s buildings with solar include two fire stations, the Public Works building, the Police and Courthouse, and City Hall. Combined, these installations include 876 panels producing 365.5 MWh of solar energy annually.
